Alongside its historical SWIZA brand, the company has incorporated MATTHEW NORMAN: This move represented a return to the very roots of mechanical movements, after a period when SWIZA table clocks were equipped with quartz movements during the major upheavals sweeping the clock and watch business in the 1970s.

MATTHEW NORMAN mechanical clocks
The gem in the Swiza crown ! Each MATTHEW NORMAN carriage clock is made by hand, part by part, at the hands of vastly experienced master-clockmakers. The most elaborate, as well as the main movement, have an additional mechanism for the chiming, repeater or alarm mechanism, as well as for calendar and moon-phase displays.
The MATTHEW NORMAN collections are based around two styles. One faithfully replicates that of 19th century carriage clocks, and the other is also designed for a clientele with a penchant for luxury mechanical horology, but with resolutely modern aesthetic tastes.

SWIZA clocks and alarm-clocks are characterised by exclusive classical or contemporary styles and fitted with SWIZA Swiss made quartz movements (with or without alarm, date and second). They also meet the high quality criteria inherent to Swiss clock and watchmaking. |
